Orchestrate3D was designed as a non-linear animation
production pipeline tool to enable artists, directors and producers to create and manage entire projects within a unified
collaborative framework.
Orchestrate 3D's first module, The Scene Conductor was built on the Improv Animation System technology, developed by Mr. Goldberg at the Media Research Lab at NYU to enable animators to layer and blend key-frame,
expression-based and motion-captured animations in a procedural, non-linear environment. The techniques implemented within
the Scene Conductor enabled animators to infinitely create and reuse libraries of animation sequences
while reducing the amount of hands-on, frame-by-frame manipulation. The Scene Conductor, like the Improv Animation System
upon which it was based, was built as a tool to enable artists to create sophisticated, lifelike, believable characters within an
intuitive, easy-to-use framework for creative expression.
Mr. Goldberg was the principal architect and designer for Orchestrate3D and, along with
Dr. Ken Perlin, the inventor of Orchestrate3D's patented non-linear animation technology.
