Project JXTA
Project JXTA started as a research project incubated at Sun Microsystems. Its goal is to explore a vision of distributed network computing using peer-to-peer topology, and to develop basic building blocks and services that would enable innovative applications for peer groups. The project has posted a draft specification and implementation code to a web site, www.jxta.org under the Apache Software License, encouraging others to join in the effort. The project is now evolving daily.

Athomas has taken an active role in the project, currently serving as Project Owner on a number of JXTA sub-projects including the JAAS Membership, JNLP Loader, LRMP Endpoint, Validation Agent and JMS-for-JXTA projects. He is also a Committer on the Platform, SOAP, XML-RPC and GamePlatform projects.
